When would you ask the opinion of your kid when making a decision?
(Any decision which may or may not affect the kid at all)
Never. What they know about life? Of cause, i will always know everything better they they do. And they must do as they are told
Only after they marry they could be wise enough to listen to their opinion.
When they are at least 12 y.o. - May be then they start to know what life is all about...
When they learn how to talk.
When they start pushing mama's stomach from inside.

i don't believe age is the only factor that you consider when involving your child in decision makings. first and foremost, it is very crucial to talk to your child, like storytelling. second, make sure your child is able to comprehend what you are talking about. if your child is unable to comprehend what is being discussed and shared, then what value does asking have? lastly, ask the child to reiterate what was discussed in his/her own words to make sure they did understand you.

in fact, this process takes place for all types of discussions btween/ young, old, male, female, and anything you call yourself inbetween.

I think there is no such a topic you cannot discuss with a child... They may have their own opinion on even the most complicated problem. And sometimes they can come with a better solution then a grown up person as they dont have stereotypes...
