 Her glance was caring & my hopes were bright Her speech was short with words that delight Her smile was radiant, like the moon at night Her steps were slow yet attractive and polite
Her looks were noble, fires of passion ignite Her features were slender yet majestic than Knights Her eyes so proud yet her heart polite Her manners so gentle, provoked poets to write
Her laughter so irresistible, a thunderous light Her character so simple yet profound to excite Her love so pure in line of my sight Her being so divine, didnt Need me quite

 Meditation.
Be quiet and more discreet, O my Grief. You cried out for the Evening; even now it falls: A gloomy atmosphere envelops the city, Bringing peace to some, anxiety to others.
While the vulgar herd of mortals, under the scourge Of Pleasure, that merciless torturer, Goes to gather remorse in the servile festival, My Grief, give me your hand; come this way
Far from them. See the dead years in old-fashioned gowns Lean over the balconies of heaven; Smiling Regret rise from the depths of the waters;
The dying Sun fall asleep beneath an arch, and Listen, Darling, to the soft footfalls of the Night That traits off to the East like a long winding-sheet.
Charles BAUDELAIRE -Recueillement- Les Fleurs du Mal Trad. from W. Aggeler.

 In 1972, the Los Angeles Coliseum was the place of a day-long concert. It was the "WattStax Summer Festival". Through amazing music and the headlined Isaak Hayes, it was an Afro-American answer to Woodstock but more importantly the best way to show a different side of Blacks and commemorate what happened , 7 years ago, during the Watts Riots. If you want to watch a great documentary about Black music and culture, just buy the dvd "Wattstax". you will not regret it.

Post from the past: "I love the 80s"

 A lot of people know the 80s due to the numerous episodes of "I love the 80s" on VH1. Well I did love the 80s, even if i was young, pimply and forced to go to school wearing those "elastic fit" corduroy pants...
The music was all Pop, every genre had to accept it if they were to be famous. So you'd Suzie and the Banshees on the same show as guys in bird costumes dancing to the Birdy Song that was number 1 on the charts. Every novelty songs got to number 1 magically, like a rule or something. People would only buy the Singles (45T) to play at parties to make everyone dance and sweat. The groups at the time were Human League, Duran Duran, INXS, A-HA, The Cure, The Smiths, Elton John and every year Jimmy Cliff would bring a song for the summer... Do you remember XTC? How about vinyl records? They might have be big and clumsy but a least you felt like you were actually getting something, some LPs were like books; now, records are just this metalic shiny things..
On TV, the kids shows were Battle of the Planets, Goldorak (Grendizer), Fraggle Rock and SAN-KU-KAI. I used to think it was so cool when you saw EOLIA dress during the starting titles... And then, AYATO was my name when going playing in the public park, my Buddy Michael was SIMAN, the man-monkey, pilot of the SAN-KU-KAI. We were figthing the ghosts of GOLEM XIII and FURIA for hours... TOP of the POP and "Salut, les P'tits clous" had all the groups on and a few videos, the cameramen used to get really close and look-up noses and skirts and they loved the smoke machine...
Snickers was Marathon, Starburst was Opal Fruits, M&M's was Smarties and when i tell young people that; they look at me odd, i wonder if it really happen, where my childhood went?
I played with toy soldiers (Atlantics), I played with my GI Joe (who were a better quality than Action Man), I had a Six Millions Dollars Man figure, you could look from his telescopic eye or make his arms muscles move! I had a stretch green monster that i cut to see what was inside that made him stretch and ruined it. The toys were good in the 80s -remember Merlin game?- I wish i still had them but when you throw darts at your GI Joe for bullets holes or splash some alcohol/white spirit on your plastic soldiers and set them on fire for more realism, they don't last so long... sadly...
Jeeezzz, why did i grow up so fast...

 How many people do you suppose base their entire identity on having a nemesis? Their entire purpose is to lobby and 'rage' against another party or faction, to nurture their own hatred -- the only thing they know. Bullies in high school would be nothing without their weaker counterparts. Their entire raison d'etre disappear and they're left with a void. maybe they've never learned how to be fulfilled by anything but smug satisfaction at the misfortune of those they loathe. People who vanquish -even if they don't because you're smarter- their enemies are left with no purpose. Being tolerante, open-minded, having respect is important... I, of course, disagree with many facts and be the first to rage about it. But i keep in mind those principles even not being a regular (catholic) practising...

-As always, so many people pretending being religious are here to teach you tolerance without being tolerant themselves... -

 The relationship I have with my iPod (got one as gift) may be verging on the unhealthy side. I spend three hours last night organizing my songs and making playlists of my various moods. Of course the iPod can't be totally blame for the music marathon. But if you're in the market for a remedy and have time in your hands, and a ipod, go through all the songs on your gadget and give the appropriate song a rating -like five stars- once, playing those top ratings songs should you make feel better. i say to myself "you're a genius" (sarcasm). Certains songs sometimes make me believe in God (did i just say that?), others provide stalwart evidence of the contrary. But the positive point is that i don't have to listen to the commercialized 'music' out of the radio. Even my Indie 103.1 suffer from commercials. Music can do anything. If someone tells you otherwise or calls you a pacifist or peace-loving hippie then just jam a fist in their eye socket and keep on rocking. Yes, i absolutely sleep with my ipod. Her name is Apple...
